Genesis 2:19 - 20 1.Describe how Adam demonstrated the use of the concept of classification? In Genesis 2:19, the Lord formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. God then presents the bounty of creation to Adam, to see what he would name them. Adam is empowered with the ability to provide names for the creatures: whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name, (Genesis 2:19). Naming is a distinctly human act, one that is encouraged by God. Scientists today practice the same act of naming whenever a new comet, creature, or phenomenon is observed. New theories are also given names because God entrusted human beings with the power of classification and naming, since God bestowed that gift on Adam.
